Botanical Art Exhibition: RAGAM FLORA INDONESIA 4

NuArt Sculpture Park, Bandung, August 18th – September 30th 2023

The Indonesian Society of Botanical Artists invites all members to submit their artworks to participate in our botanical art exhibition “RAGAM FLORA INDONESIA 4” in collaboration with NuArt Sculpture Park, to present the beauty of native Indonesian flora. We hope to inspire interest and public awareness of the vast wealth of our plant diversity through the creative expression of our botanical artists.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This exhibition is open to all current IDSBA members in Indonesia and overseas. We also invite the public to become a member and participate. To join our membership, please visit www.idsba.com or contact us via Whatsapp +6281717111717.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Subject: any Indonesian native plant species / natural hybrids but does not include cultivars, man-made hybrids or introduced plants.
  2. Minimum size: ⅛ imperial (±19 x 28 cm).
  3. Technique: original, manually created botanical art or botanical illustration (no photography, or digital art).
  4. Media: Any media, including but not limited to watercolor, colored pencil, gouache, acrylic, oil, ink, graphite, mixed media, etc. 
  5. Artworks must be made within the last 3 years (2020 – 2023) and have not been exhibited in previous Ragam Flora Indonesia exhibitions. 
  6. Each Artist must ensure that their artwork does not infringe any copyright.

EXHIBITION REQUIREMENTS:

Artists are responsible for the availability of each artwork to be displayed during the exhibition (August 18th – September 30th, 2023).

Artworks must be ready to display, packaged safely and received by the exhibition committee in Bandung by August 3rd, 2023.

It is advisable to use a passepartout/mat and acrylic cover (not glass) for the safety of the artwork during transportation. Artists are also responsible for the costs of delivery and return of their artwork. The Exhibition committee will use the original packaging of each artwork to return them after the exhibition*.

*For artworks from overseas, we recommend displaying a reproduction of the artwork, which will be destroyed after the exhibition. There may be some printing and framing costs, which will be covered by each artist. Artists must make further arrangements with the committee (info@idsba.com or Whatsapp +6281717111717)

Artists may allow the sale of their artwork during this exhibition, in which the price shall be determined by the Artist. Sold artworks will be subjected to a 35% commission fee, and must remain displayed throughout the length of the exhibition.

By submitting their artworks, Artists agree to allow IDSBA to use accepted artworks for promotional material, educational reference, catalog and IDSBA’s website with full credit to the Artist.

SUBMISSION

  1. Each Artist is allowed to submit a maximum of 5 artworks for selection (FREE registration fee).
  2. Please upload an accurately representative file of scanned artwork (JPG/JPEG), 300 dpi minimum and not more than 4 MB, without any signature or watermark. Make sure each artwork file is named as follows: Artist Name_Scientific Name
    A higher-quality file with the Artists’ signature will be required after the announcement of the selection process.

IDSBA is not responsible for the loss or damage of artworks during delivery or outside of the exhibition period. Artists are highly suggested to insure their artwork.

3. Selected artworks must be sent complete with a label attached on the back side of the frame and also on the outside of the packaging to ensure their safe return. The label format is as attached.

4. Selected artworks must be sent with a printed and signed registration form.
