As a society, we provide support for our members to bond and grow together as botanical artists and illustrators. Although we are not an educational establishment, we do facilitate learning through routine internal online sharing classes (BMB: Belajar Mandiri dan Berbagi), workshops, group painting dates and painting challenges. We also work together to exhibit members’ artwork regularly at least once a year.
Members can also show their botanical art in a personal gallery online within our website www.idsba.com, and also take advantage of special member discounts when shopping at our partnered merchants.
We strive to build a warm, respective and inclusive community where you can meet supportive like-minded peers, build connections with other botanical-related associations, government institutions and researchers; and take part in exciting botanical art projects.
To join, all you need is a love for botanical art and a passion for learning. Interest in plants/gardening or artistic skills in realistic drawing or painting may help but it is not a must.
Prepare to start learning botanical art and botanical science. For art materials, you may use any media you like such as watercolours, coloured pencils, graphite, ink, pastel, etc.
You can join at any time. Our full membership is active until December 31st each year regardless of the date of application and can be renewed each year.
Members’ artwork are only selected for certain competitions and exhibitions. Otherwise, all botanical artwork can be shared freely in our chat groups and artists may invite a discussion about them.
